Republicans Ignore Jobs To Appease Base

Let me see if I understand the Republican Tea Party agenda for 2011. After an entire year of attacking President Obama and the Democrats with a claim that they should not have spent any time working on health care and instead should have been focusing exclusively on jobs, incoming Weeper of the House John Boehner's first order of business is on...health care. That's right, folks, rather than doing what they promised, which was an exclusive focus on jobs, the first order of business in the new Republican House is to vote on the repeal of the Affordable Care Act (health care reform). This is strictly a symbolic vote as there is no way it will ever even make the Senate floor. Even more hypocritical is the fact that the bill being voted on will not go through any committees (a complaint the GOP used to make) and will not allow for any amendments from the other party (another complaint the GOP made throughout 2009-2010). Interesting.

Republicans: wasting the people's time and money on day one. Sounds like a slogan for 2012.

Hey Mr. Boehner...where are the jobs?
