The video could, I guess, be called a "mockumentary" about a great, unsung band from San Francisco called The Mommyheads. I was fortunate enough to see this great pop band a couple of times in the 90s. They even crashed on my floor once after a show in Madison, Wisconsin. Nicest guys.
The Mommyheads started as a high school band and they made it all the way to the major label system, when they were signed by Geffen Records in 1997. After making only one album with Geffen (produced by Don Was, who also worked with The Rolling Stones, Paul Westerberg, and Bonnie Raitt), they were dropped. The group broke up in 1998. They are back now in a limited capacity, and found the time to make this video:
