Just like I said they would, the American right is passing the blame for their thuggish violence in Kentucky on the victim. Tim Profitt, a county coordinator for the Rand Paul (R) for Senate campaign, stomped on the head and neck of a woman as she lay on the ground, pinned by two other men. Profitt, who initially offered a very insincere, partial apology for this violence, is now saying that it was the woman's fault. He told the local CBS affiliate, "I don't think it's that big of a deal. I would like for her to apologize to me to be honest with you."
Exactly as I said yesterday when this story broke, the right wing (led by Fox News) is attempting to deflect yet another instance of right-wing violence (this is about the 10th in this current election cycle) by blaming the victim of the violence. Remember, this was a small woman, a little over 5'0" who was thrown to the ground by a group of large men, pinned in place, and then stomped on the head. This is, quite simply, disgusting. Any person who blames the victim for the violence inflicted upon them is an immoral fuck.

I absolutely agree with you on all of this with the only exception being that I did not see anything on Fox News excusing this or blaming Valle for it.
Just a matter of time.
I understand Rush's point on this, but on this issue he is definitely wrong. Valle could have been restrained if necessary without anyone stomping on her head. Shame on Rush for this one!
But she didn't need to be restrained at all. This is America. She has as much right to be at a candidate's debate as anyone else, and to hold signs or do whatever. She was no threat. This was thuggish behavior on the part of the Paul supporters.
