Been Caught Cheatin'

Wingnut hero and probable GOP presidential front-runner Sarah Palin made a big splash at last weekend's Tea Party convention in Nashville. The 600 or so activists shelled out big bucks (Palin was paid over $100K to appear) to see their facebooking hero wax poetic on her "core principles" and her values. Sadly, Palin has such trouble remembering what those principles and values are that she had to write crib notes on her hand (I guess we know he got through college). Words like "Energy" and "Tax" were listed. She couldn't remember that?

You know Sarah, it's a little odd to criticize the president for reading an entire speech from a teleprompter when you need a cheat sheet to answer a few questions about your own personal beliefs. So, I guess Palin could now be described as a "charismatic gal with a cheat sheet on her hand." I hate to break it to her mindless supporters, but it is not very presidential to write notes on your hand. Maybe she should have just written "Don't lie" on her hand, and she would have done better. But that is just wishful thinking on my part. She always lies. You betcha!

Few notes on palm of hand vs multiple electronic devices used to read speech verbatum.

Yup, no difference there / sarcasim.

Do tell, what lies has Governor Palin told? I betcha I can give you three of Obama's for every one of hers just off the top of my head.

Obama's whole campaign as a post-partisan, special interest group rejecting, centrist, non-politician was the hugest lie of all and the very reason why his favorable ratings in the polls have dropped faster than any president's in recent generations after his first year in office.

Yeah, you're right. And your hero, the senile Ronald Reagan memorized every single speech he ever gave (sarcasm -- spelled correctly I might add). He never used a teleprompter or notes?! He could barely stay awake for more than 3 hours a day.

Do you realize how stupid you sound arguing that a president reading an entire speech from a teleprompter is equal to a retard like Palin who can't even remember to mention "energy" while speaking "off the cuff" in a Q&A?!

Right, man. Whatever you say.

Even if I agreed that he has not governed this way, those are subjective points and not lies. You do know the difference between fact and opinion, right? Maybe not, you watch Fox.

Obama has been post-partisan. It's the other party that can't get past its' extreme partisanship and work in a constructive way. He is a centrist, you are on the extreme right, so you can't tell. He has rejected special interests. Look at how many millions special interests like the insurance lobby and the oil companies have spent to try and stop him.

Anything else?

But as for Palin, I would have to do an entire post on the myriad of lies she has told. I'll give you one:

Palin: "I told them 'thanks but no thanks' on that bridge to nowhere." That is a LIE. She campaigned for governor in support of the bridge, and accepted all of the money for it. There's one, and it is not open to interpretation. She lied.

But, you know, no matter what I have to say, you righties will bend over backwards to come up with a way to spin this into something positive for Palin and anti-elite.

Here is an exchange from this morning's Fox and Friends where the totally objective "reporters" (nudge nudge wink wink) offer their two cents:

CARLSON: I think she did it on purpose. I think she did it on purpose, yeah. Because it’s an exact opposite of reading off the teleprompter with a script written for you with every word in a sentence and here’s she’s just taking crib notes on her hand. It makes her look like she can just talk off the cuff and she just jotted down a few couple notes before she went out to give a big long speech.

DOOCY: I think she did it because she probably does it a lot. I do that all the time. [...]

KILMEADE: But to sit there and look at, and do the interview and look down at her hand, I think that is — like you said before, Gretchen — folksy, absolutely, down-to-earth, I can identify. But if you’re going to write on your hand, why not just say, ’staffer, hand me a card.’ And then it would be okay.

CARLSON: Nah, like I said, I think it was on purpose. But anyway, we we may never know.

Yeah, it was on purpose to make a point about Obama. Uh huh. If you believe that you are a candidate for an invite to the retard summit.

And still did a better job than Obama in 3 than obama can do in 18 a day LOL- assuming that's true and it's not. That doesn't even sum up his awsomeness, as his "off the cuff" remarks and quick thinking that neutralized liberals so fast they spent 8 years trying to keep up and failed.

As for Palin, that's what you've got? Some notes on her hand? Wow, you guys suck. You'd better put more work in than that to stop this train from running you over.

Obama has been post-partisan.

href="http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/may/07/obamas-lobbyists/">11% of Obama's staff are former lobbiests.

Office of Intergovernmetnal Affairs Director Cecilia Munoz lobbied for the National Council of La Raza; Office of Political Affairs Director Patricia Gaspard is a former Service Employees International Union lobbyist; and Deputy National Security Adviser Thomas Donilon is a former lobbyist for Fannie Mae for example.

As for Partisanship, it doesn't matter in the least if Republicans or "the right oppose Obama's agenda. Democrats have super majorities, they don't need Republicans at all.

Its democrats who've been stopping Obama, because even they know his way is national suicide. There's nothing centrist about Obama, he's so left even many Democrats won't work with him so why should a single Republican?

Whoops, link messed up. Anyway, this idea that Obama is some post partisan non-political animal is just silly. I'm pretty sure the guy has more lobbiests working for him than George Bush did.

It's not the best, just the latest. The latest in a long, long list of ways Sarah Palin is all hype. Brainless hype. And the right loves to follow a charismatic dummies, so she should go far.

But hell, if you're so pathetic as a conservative that you need a note on your hand to make you remember you are against taxes and want to cut the budget...isn't that like conservative 101. She needs a cheat sheet for that?

I really don't understand the religious-like devotion you righties have for her.

I agree she's hype. Doesn't change the fact that your arguement Obama doesn't use lobbiests is all wet though. One thing about Palin, she doesn't have as many homies on K Street.

Dave Splash said...

Not yet. But the way the GOP is now sucking up to Wall Street, Palin will be swimming in lobbyist money by next year. Right now it's only dumb teabaggers who are paying her. For her stupid book, for her idiotic speeches, and for her Q&A where she reads off her hand.

Palin won't be getting my vote in the Primary, but I sure love the way she gets you Libs panties all wadded up!

Yeah, and that is the test of the true leader. Man, the conservative movement is really a pathetic lot.
