What Leadership Looks Like

President Obama met with Congressional Republicans today and answered questions for 90 mins. on live television. From all accounts, it was an amazing appearance by the president. He answered all questions and beat back all of the silly, dishonest talking points the GOP has been using since his inauguration. It was a rare spectacle, and an example of what a real leader looks like. He went into the lion's den and emerged victorious. Would a Republican president ever do such a thing?

The event was carried live on the cable news networks and C-Span. Apparently, the execs at Fox News decided that Obama was looking too good schooling a bunch of clueless Republicans, so they cut away early. The other networks covered the whole thing. A high ranking Republican told reporter Luke Russert that he believes it was a "mistake" to give the president this opportunity because it made the GOP look bad. Oh well, can't put the toothpaste back in the tube now!

In this short clip, the president scolds the GOP for its ridiculous rhetoric about health care reform.

Ya know, I was going to give a thoughtful response to this, but between laughing so hard and realizing that it really is pointless to do so, I figure I'll just say have a good weekend, Splash.

And the reason we called it a bolshevic plot was... it was a bolshevic plot.

The GOP doesn't need Obama's help to make them look bad, but it's nice to know he can still beat back their nonsense. Now if only Obama could manage to stop going back on his campaign promises.

Oh, I really wish he would try to keep his campaign promises. That would guarantee his ouster in 2012 and a whole lot of his Democrat comrades with him.

It's funny how the will of the people and the results of an election can so easily be disregarded when its Democrats who win. Keeping his campaign promises will ensure his re-election in 2012, and pandering to the right will ensure he will lose. It's that simple.
