Why Conservatism Has Crossed The Line That Should NEVER Be Crossed

If you see someone wearing one of these "Pray For Obama" t-shirts, punch him or her square in the face. If you see someone's car with one of those as a bumper sticker, slash the tires. This new right wing trend (being promoted on right wing blogs and all over twitter) is a clear call for, and endorsement of, the assassination of our president, Barack Obama. Don't let anyone tell you differently. This displays nothing but hostility to the president, the country, the American people, and even democracy itself. Now the only thing that passes for political dialogue with the right are threats and intimidation. This is 100% unprecedented. Here is the psalm (109.8) which is giving right wingers a boner:
Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labor.
Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children.
Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

There is no other way to interpret this as anything but an endorsement of violence against the President of the United States. I cannot think of anything more disgusting or more un-American. FUCK YOU to anyone who would wear such a shirt, place such a sticker on your car, or even defend this garbage. Keep in mind that incitement to violence is not protected speech under the First Amendment to the US Constitution, so spare me any whining about your "freedom" being taken away.

And watch out, my friends, if I see your car anywhere near me. All I can say is...I hope you have AAA.

I agree that this is disgusting. Anyone that truly follows Christ's commandments would not partake in this kind of prayer towards our president.

That being said, I still pray for Obama to gain wisdom to know what is right and the courage to choose that right in his governance.

Barring that, I pray that he will cause no further damage to our country than what he has already done.

I'm glad you agree, Paine. I didn't want to have to slash your tires.

This kind of "Christianity" is the same crap like the pastor of the Baptist Church in Kansas that protests at the funerals of our servicemen because of America's support of gays etc. I am far from perfect, but I am pretty certain that is NOT what Christ taught. Those that cloak their hate in Christianity will have a lot to answer for some day, I suspect.
