Dick Cheney and daughter Liz have decided to form their own think tank (or some place where people who are always wrong go to shoot the shit) called Keeping America Safe. The group is little more than a forum for the Cheneys to bash President Obama. The DNC had a great quote on what the pair can do with their new group:
"Last fall, the American people overwhelmingly rejected a radical foreign policy authored by Dick Cheney that alienated our allies, emboldened our enemies, depleted our resources, distracted our focus and made the nation less secure. The Cheneys lost that debate and their approach was deemed a failure. The Cheneys can continue to focus on securing their sullied legacy if they want to. But, the President will continue to focus on securing the country."

Are you KIDDING?!?! Obama has done NOTHING but make our country less safe in every way.
He wants to shut down Gitmo, even though he still doesn't know where to put these terrorists from there.
He killed our theatre missile defense system and alienated our European allies, especially the Czech Republic and Poland in the process.
He turns a blind eye to missile tests and provocations from North Korea.
He wants to "talk" as Iran gets ever closer to having nuclear weapons, even after they recently have shown they have a missile capable of hitting our ally Israel.
Obama blasts America and runs it down on overseas trips while making nice with evil dictators such as Chavez.
He cannot make a decision on whether to fight the damned war in Afghanistan and send more troops like the generals requested, or acquiese to the wimpy EU.
Obama wants to prosecute CIA interogators and hamstring our military through onerous rules of engagement.
He has our troops mirandizing captured terrorists on the battlefield.
Obama is the biggest naive idiot that has ever sat in the oval office!
It is because of Obama's timidity and wrong-headed policies that we WILL suffer another terrorist attack sooner rather than later.
Cheney was and is dead right on all of these matters, but it doesn't matter, because even after we are attacked again you all on the left still won't acknowledge that it is Obama's foolishness that made that attack possible.

If we are so un-safe, where is the big attack. By this point in Bush's first term, we had already been attacked. It was Bush who ignored the real problem of terrorism and focused on undoing arms control treaties with Russia in his first eight months. Attny Gen. John Ashcroft famously said that he did not want to hear the mention of terrorism again at a meeting because it was not a problem. He wanted to focus on pornography. They were asleep at the switch.
After being attacked, Bush and Cheney realized there was a problem. Yet rather than solving it, they started a completely unnecessary and unrelated war in a country that did not attack us and had no WMD.
He killed our theatre missile defense system and alienated our European allies, especially the Czech Republic and Poland in the process.
Ummm. No. The missile defense system promoted by the Bushies was a defense contractor boondoogle that never worked. Our European allies were alienated due to Bush's cowboy attitude and insults toward Europe. The Czechs and Poles are not upset, only John Bolton seems to think so.
He turns a blind eye to missile tests and provocations from North Korea. What exactly did Bush/Cheney do for their eight years? Ignore the problem and refuse to talk. By the end of their reign, the situation with North Korea was exactly where it was when Bill Clinton left office. They accomplished nothing. At least Obama is trying a new approach, not just yelling and screaming and calling names, which is the sum total of the Bush/Cheney approach.
He wants to "talk" as Iran gets ever closer to having nuclear weapons, even after they recently have shown they have a missile capable of hitting our ally Israel.
So you are advocating military intervention in a country twice the size of Iraq, with 3x the population? We can barely handle the two wars Bush started now. Through Obama diplomacy, the Russians and Chinese are now on our side with punishing Iran with sanctions. Ahmenidijad is very weak, and the people do not support him. An attack on Iran will enrage the population, and turn an otherwise pro-West population into angry radicals, and make any future dealings with Iran much, much worse. We tried your way for 8 years and got nothing, let's give this a try. Why is the right's answer to everything bombing and killing.
Obama blasts America and runs it down on overseas trips while making nice with evil dictators such as Chavez.
Really? Stop watching Fixed News, my friend. This is 100% pure bullshit. Obama never "blasted" America and never made nice with Chavez. Is the mere mention of a past mistake "blasting" America? Then you must really hate America because this entire comment of yours is nothing but "blasting" America. Obama this, Obama that. He is the president, and if being critical of the president and of America in any way is "blasting" then you are more guilty of it then President Obama.
pt 2
He cannot make a decision on whether to fight the damned war in Afghanistan and send more troops like the generals requested, or acquiese to the wimpy EU.
It has been the "wimpy EU" as you put it that has done the bulk of the fighting in that country ever since Bush pulled our troops and resources out and put them in his pet project, Iraq. It is shocking to me that the right is attacking the commander-in-chief for being deliberative and wanting to come up with the right strategy after accomplishing virtually nothing for 8 years. Furthermore, the commander-in-chief creates the strategy and gives the orders to the generals, not the other way around. How seriously should one take a recommendation for troops, when the strategy has yet to be stated? After 8 years of failure, I think it's time for those that backed the old, failed policy to shut the hell up and stop insisting they know best. There is no basis for the right suggesting that Obama is weak and cannot make a decision. You guys are just used to "the decider" who makes snap calls and then refuses to ever re-evaluate the situation based on the facts on the ground.
Obama wants to prosecute CIA interogators and hamstring our military through onerous rules of engagement.
Torture is illegal. We live in a nation of laws and those who break them (even those in the CIA or Dick Cheney) need to be held accountable. Besides, we received no usable intelligence through torture, all of the usable stuff on Al qeda was gained through normal, FBI interrogations. And if torturing is so vital to our defense, and the policy was halted in 2004 by Bush himself, why have we not been hit again? According to Cheney, without torture, the terrorists will hit us. Yet, there hasn't been any since 04...
Obama is the biggest naive idiot that has ever sat in the oval office!
That prize was already awarded to George "what's a Sunni or Shia" Bush. He was naive, stupid, arrogant, corrupt, and easily the worst US president of all time.
Cheney was and is dead right on all of these matters, but it doesn't matter, because even after we are attacked again you all on the left still won't acknowledge that it is Obama's foolishness that made that attack possible.
It seems like you guys on the right want another terrorist attack just so you can prove your idiotic theories correct. How sad. You hope we get attacked just to vindicate Dick Cheney? And you all accuse the left of being anti-American.
The world breathed a collective sigh of relief once Bush and Cheney left the WH, and do did most Americans. Our allies are glad to have America back, and our enemies know that we won't continue to use the failed strategies of the Bush years (i.e. putting out army in one country and egging on Al Qeda to come and attack us, while allowing Osama Bin Laden and Mullah Omar to live comfortably in seclusion). When Obama's military captures Bin Laden and cripples the Al Qeda leadership, I can't wait to hear all of you on the right complain and attack him for doing so.
The right's new attitude of "if Obama does it, it must be opposed because America will be destroyed otherwise" is really pathetic. Pathetic and counter productive, and against everything you all preached during the Bush years.
