Big, Bad "Liberal" Media Hires Jenna Bush

They better lock up the liquor cabinets at 30 Rock because a member of the Bush family is joining the team. Jenna Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, has been hired as a correspondent for NBC's Today Show.

If Chelsea Clinton had joined the media shortly after her father's term in office, the right would be screaming about the "liberal" media and her lack of qualifications. But, since it's a Bush, it's up to me to point out that the former first daughter is clearly an aristocratic, affirmative action hire. NBC passed over its more qualified, but less politically connected, candidates, and went with the Bush. No surprise there. The last time a Bush got a job solely on his or her merits, Harry Truman was President.

Your premise is flawed. I would argue that George W. was NOT a conservative at all (with the possible exception of his foreign policy)so therefore odds are fair that his daughters also aren't conservative. Thereby, the liberal media did indeed hire one of their own. :)

There is no "liberal media", and George W. WAS a conservative, by my definition. As some like to say, "End of argument!" 8-)

I might submit that because we have a corporate media, who better to hire than a member of one of America's more well-to-do families? Heh!
