Though I haven't mentioned it in a while, I am still watching (and enjoying) the show Chuck. Sure, it's completely unrealistic and often silly. But why does a TV show have to be realistic and/or serious all the time -- even a "spy" show? The newest wrinkle in the show is that Chuck has a new love interest.
So far this season, Chuck's "cover" has included super hot, blond secret agent, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), pretending to be his girlfriend. Chuck has admitted to Sarah that it is becoming increasingly difficult for him to separate his cover from his real life and feelings. He asked her, point blank, if she had any feelings for him, and she said no. Kinda cold.
In this week's episode, a local deli owner (played by Rachel Bilson) comes into Chuck's store to see if she can get her phone fixed. She and Chuck get along well, and she shares his passion for all things sandwich. Then, Sarah shows up. During the course of the episode, both Chuck and Sarah are exposed to a toxin that makes people tell the truth uncontrollably. Under the influence of this drug, Chuck again asks her if she feels anything for him. Again, she says no. Chuck then says they need to break up, and he goes to be with sandwich girl. After Chuck leaves, it is revealed that as part of her secret agent training, Sarah learned how to resist the effects of the truth telling drug. Oops.
So, who should Chuck choose? It is a tough decision. On the one hand, sandwich girl likes him for who he really is (supposedly). On the other hand, Sarah is a super hot blond secret agent. It's a toss up. The previews for next week hint that sandwich girl is not all that she appears to be.
