LAME! Chili Peppers Suing Showtime Over 'Californication'

Could Red Hot Chili Peppers be any lamer? I know, it's a rhetorical question. They are as lame as lame gets. Now, the band is suing the Showtime network over the name "Californication." Sure, the Chili Peppers have an album and a song with that name, but what does the TV show have to do with that? I was under the impression that one cannot copyright a title. Remember when the 80s band Living Colour tried to sued the TV show, In Living Color? Didn't work out too well for that band.

I guess Anthony Kiedis needs more money. At this point, the TV show is so much cooler than RHCP, that it seems sort of embarrassing that the band is even engaging in these shenanigans.

"Californication is the signature CD, video and song of the band's career, and for some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right," the band's lead singer, Anthony Kiedis, said in a statement.

... actually, that's nothing to be proud of, Kiedis. If it's your masterstroke CD, I would hope you'd be smart enough to say 'Mothers Milk.'

Still, I guess the show has a character named Dani California.

Really? I just caught on to the show late in the season. If that's true, then they are definitely trying to incorporate RHCP into the show without their consent. That would change my opinion of the suit if that was the case.
