
The idiocy of the Republican Party apparently never ceases. Today on the floor of the House of Representatives,
Ted Poe (R-TX) quoted
Nathan Bedford Forest while defending the Bush policy in Iraq. The problem?
Forest is one of the founders of the
Ku Klux Klan, and an officer in the Confederacy. The Confederacy issue is bad enough. I mean, they were traitors that
seceded from the US and fought and killed American soldiers to preserve slavery. But when you add a former Grand Wizard of the KKK into the mix, you have officially jumped the shark! Is this the new tactic of the right for the war in Iraq? Follow the example of the Klan?
