GOP Presidential Candidate: Making Money Part of "Jewish Tradition"

Republican presidential candidate Tommy Thompson (a former three-term Governor of Wisconsin, and a cabinet secretary in the Bush Administration) said the following at a Reform Jewish conference: "I'm in the private sector and for the first time in my life I'm earning money. You know that's sort of part of the Jewish tradition and I do not find anything wrong with that."

Thompson
later spoke at the NAACP and commented that he has been working on his basketball skills as part of his outreach to the African-American community.
