The GOP Tongues Are Wagging, But All They Say Are Lies

• Perjury? Not in the Bush administration! Well...think again. Bloomberg news is reporting that the grand jury testimony shows that senior Bush officials Karl Rove and Lewis Libby gave testimony that is quite different from that of the reporters involved in the case. They said they first heard about the undercover CIA status of Valerie Plame Wilson from the reporters, while the reporters say the exact opposite. With the uncovering of the State Department memo yesterday that shows that the Bush folks knew about Plame-Wilson's undercover status before the infomation was made public, it sure looks a lot like Rove, Libby, Cheney, Mehlman, etc. are lying. There is no other appropriate word for it. They are liars who put their own political agenda ahead of national security. Treason? Perjury? Obstruction of Justice? Or all of the above?
  
• Courtney Love hospitalized...again. The official word is that she was feeling "faint." I have a friend who was at the hotel where this incident happened who can say with 100% certainty that it was an overdose. Damn, this woman needs to get her shit together. Her career is in shambles, her daughter has been taken from her more than once, and she is about 40 pounds overweight. Snap out of it woman!
  
• New Supergrass album to be released September 27. Road to Ruen is the band's fifth album, and will be followed by a US tour. See this band!

• KISS to perform private show for Honda employees in Ohio. The show is set for September 30 in Columbus, but current KISS drummer Eric Singer is scheduled to be in Albuquerque, NM playing drums for Alice Cooper. Who will be playing drums? Good question...
• Mississippi Supreme Court rules that municipalities are not responsible for the legal expenses for poor defendants. So, now the police can arrest you, charge you with a crime, try you in a court of law, but if you can't afford an attorney...tough shit. Why do we still tolerate Mississippi? The state is fundamentally un-American, and represents everything wrong with America. Locking up poor people without providing an adequate defense? Sick.
  
• Built to Spill expand fall tour. New dates have been added in all regions of the country, thought BTS's new album has been delayed until early 2006.
