- Texas governor tells gay veterans to leave the state. Despite the fact that they risked their lives for the freedom of all Americans (including Texans), Gov. Rick Perry would prefer they leave his state. What an asshole. Yet another reason to give Texas back to Mexico.

- Medical group seeks signatures for Omaha city-wide smoking ban. I have mixed feelings on smoking bans. I don't smoke, but many of my friends do. I don't allow smoking in my house or in my car. I certainly hate smoking in restaurants because it effects the taste of the food. But, in bars, I think it is ridiculous to ban smoking while alcohol is being served. If you go out to a bar, that's just something you have to deal with. A bar owner is free to ban smoking in his/her place, but I don't like the idea of a citywide ban. I think it will hurt bar business. I am torn on this issue.
